Twilight soundtracks just keep getting better. The New Moonsoundtrack, which includes songs from Thom Yorke, Band of Skulls, Grizzly Bear, and Death Cab for Cutie, hit #1 on Billboard a week after its release and went platinum in several countries including the US, Australia, and Mexico. It made history as the first time a soundtrack and its sequel have both reached #1 on the Billboard and box office charts.
This time around, Beck and Bat for Lashes teamed up for a duet exclusively for the Eclipse soundtrack, whileVampire Weekend, Metric, Florence & the Machine, Band of Horses, and the Black Keys have all contributed original songs (sweet). Muse is also back for their third appearance on a Twilight soundtrack with the film's lead single, "Neutron Star Collision". The music video for the single includes clips from the film and has rounded up nearly a million hits only a week after its release.
Sounds like we're shaping up for a wild indie summer, kiddos. If the soundtrack had a style, what do you think it would rock? I have an idea...
"That’s more than just a fashion statement — it sucks to carry jeans in your mouth." [Jacob Black, Eclipse]
